With a focus on inclusive films both in story and above and below-the-line crew, Rachael has worked on over 20 LGBTQIA/Women/BIPOC inclusive films in just the past few years. After 15 years traveling worldwide as a Producer/Shooter on docs of non-profits as well as operating jib and camera on over 200 live events across 65 different countries, Rachael decided to focus on narrative storytelling films while still keeping a hand in the documentary field.
In the past few years, Rachael has been the D.P. on three feature-length films, one at Queer Screen Cannes in 2024, one screening through Frameline, one in post production, one winning Panavision Best Feature at Micheux with a $60K grant. She cam op'd two others, and DP'd or been CLT on over a dozen short films. She's also DP on the Gay Guardian Angel Series (Un)Free Will streaming on Dekoo.
With a background in docs and lighting for social causes, Rachael's focus is on diverse and inclusive cinema. Coming from doc makes you scrappy. Working for non-profits builds in empathy and a drive for social change. Rachael's passion is bringing experience, determination, and creativity to projects led by and crewed by inclusive teams. She owns camera, lighting and grip equipment for the express purpose of bringing to life the stories of marginalized voices so as to help bridge the empathy gap in this world through the art of film. Representation Matters!
